Always a joy to receive and carefully leaf through, The Plant is full of stories branching off in this way and that after beginning in the earth, roots, leaves and flowers.
This 23rd issue speaks to the virtues of slowing down amidst the ever-increasing pace of time, something that magazines (and nature!) are particularly well suited to as the team note: ‘One of the most fascinating things about magazines—and all printed matter—is that if you’re up for it, you can expand your perception of time, slowing it does and even stopping it… that’s a super power, the same one nature has.’
From Tibet’s seasonal flora and artist Gordon Matta-Clark’s tree drawings, to Denmark’s seaweed-roofed houses, fruit bowls, and after school playtime in Japan, there’s plenty to appreciate, soak up, and take in.
