Bergantini has chosen the format of a manual as a tool to stimulate reflection on “how to do things” in a society that seems to have lost its bearings. As in coming of age novels, the work stresses the need for an evolution although is not made immediately clear who the protagonist is and to whom this process of maturation towards adulthood refers.
